A light-sensitive solar cell on the cone-shaped top captures natural or artificial light. The captured energy moves the center striker, which gently taps the three tuned aluminum rods to produce pleasant chime sounds. The Sprite does not light up or glow.

No. To reduce or stop the chiming, simply move it away from bright light or place it in a dimly lit area.

Does the Sprite need direct sunlight?
